GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Responsible for leading school efforts to develop and coordinate a comprehensive program to provide work-based learning experiences for all students by supporting, planning, and prioritizing goals and strategicactions, developing common best practices aligned to national, state and division level goals and standards,measuring impact and outcomes including contributing to Division and VDOE reporting and requirementsand, incorporating the Division’s culturally responsive practices and approaches to achieving equitableoutcomes for all students.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to connect with students; ability to work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, parents, otherstaff, and employers; ability to work independently; ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative; ability touse technology, and the ability to communicate with members of the business community.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required. Must be certified as ateacher or eligible to be certified for a full renewable VA teaching license. Experience in one or more of thefollowing areas: career and technical education, vocational assessment, human resources, workforcedevelopment, special education, or counseling.

 

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
Works typically in a school setting in offices and classrooms with light lifting of audio and computerequipment from 10-30 pounds. Daily contact is made with students, building principals and school staff.Occasional contact is made with parents, community groups and employers.
