All In VA Division Tutoring Coordinator

Part-time, temporary

15-20 hours per week from date of hire through July 31, 2024

 

 

General Definition of Work:

Facilitates the ALL In Virginia high-intensity tutoring program at the Division level in coordination with the Director of Instruction - Tiered Supports and provides on-site assistance to school tutoring coordinators, tutors and administration.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Maintains tutoring schedules of schools and tutors. 
  • Schedules available tutors at schools. 
  • Monitors progress data at the school and Division level. 
  • Provides feedback on program implementation to division and school level leadership. 
  • Provides training and support to academic tutors participating in the ALL In Virginia high-intensity tutoring program. 
  • Collaborates with school administrators to provide progress updates to key stakeholders. 
  • Consults with school based coordinators to ensure collaboration between classroom teachers, administrators, and guidance counselors concerning the instructional needs of students who require academic support in the areas of literacy and/or math.
  • Complies with state laws, school board policies, and administrative regulations. 
  • Conduct onboarding exercises for tutors. 
  • Follow and track a budget. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Maintains a consistent, positive, and professional rapport with school staff and tutors. 
  • Works cooperatively with colleagues, support staff, and administration. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of best practices in tutoring in language arts and mathematics.  Familiarity with state laws, school board policies, and administrative regulations surrounding All-In Virginia.  Ability to consult and coordinate across many school cultures to achieve equitable practices.  

 

Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree and Virginia Teaching License required. Virginia K-12 Administration Endorsement preferred; Experience as an instructional leader, school or division administrator preferred. 

 

Reports to: Director of Instruction- Tiered Supports 

 

Terms of Employment: 15-20 hours per week from date of hire through July 31, 2024. Temporary position, not eligible for benefits. 

 

Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policies and administrative regulations on evaluation of non-licensed personnel.

 

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:

Work is typically performed in an office setting primarily. At times this person may set up office equipment and files, with occasional light lifting and other limited physical activities. Occasional operation of automated computer office equipment is required. Frequent travel to school sites throughout the County and occasional statewide or regional travel is required. Attendance to meetings outside the normal duty hours is frequently required. Regular involvement made with principals and teachers throughout the School Division. Usually there is a need to motivate, establish rapport, gain support, or persuade or influence individuals or groups. Contacts with School Board members, Advisory Councils, faculties and students, parents, and the general public are regularly required. Occasional debate is often characteristic of the contact and may require considerable skill in diplomacy, tact and discretion.



Salary: Paid Hourly $45-$50 based on certifications and job experience
