As a means of succession management and planning, Albemarle County Public Schools seeks to hire internal candidates for the development of leadership skills.

 

The Assistant Principal Intern position is a developmental position in which current ACPS educators who hold endorsement in Administration & Supervision PK-12 have the opportunity to work in various schools for up to a two year period of time. The intent is that at the end of their time in this role, the intern will earn an administrator position in ACPS or elsewhere, or will return to a classroom position within the school division.

 

Who may be considered?

 

  • Must be a full-time ACPS educator
  • Must hold a valid Virginia Teaching License
  • Must have successfully completed all requirements, including the assessment, for endorsement in Admin & Supervision PK-12 by July 1, 2020.
  • Employees on a Plan of Improvement may not be considered.
  • Teaching experience at the level (elementary/secondary) of the vacancy is required.
