The Management  Analyst I (Transportation Analyst) assists the Routing and Planning Supervisor with the development of all home-to-school routes (regular and special needs) to include special requests for alternate bus stop placements, mid-day shuttles, and other pre-and post-school needs. Performs complex professional and administrative work and is assigned specific technical project responsibilities as it relates to routing. Work is performed under the general supervision of senior department management; work involves responsibility to research, collect data, analyze, and publish information; assignments involve administrative, operational and organizational development activities; does related work as required.  Essential functions include and are not limited to the following:

  • development of all home-to-school routes (regular and special needs) to include special requests for alternate bus stop placements, mid-day shuttles, and other pre-and post-school needs
  • Identifies, researches, analyzes and collects data to create statistical reports, and documents
  • Researches and evaluates existing and proposed administrative or operational policies, practices, and techniques
  • Recommends improvements
  • Researches and writes monthly, annual and special reports for the department head
  • Assists in the preparation of departmental budgets
  • Consults with officials of other divisions and departments on matters of mutual interest
  • Follows up and carries out various administrative orders
  • Participates in committee, teams and project groups
  • Works independently and assumes responsibility for projects and programs

QUALIFICATIONS:  Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major work in business or public administration; two years of experience of a responsible nature in the area assigned. Experience with Special Education and/or special needs students is preferred.

 

Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of public or business administration; thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques relevant to the administration of the specific department; thorough knowledge of departmental objectives, procedures, and organization; ability to devise detailed procedures and methodology; ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others; ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, other employees, and the general public.

 

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:  Work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional extended periods of time at computer terminals. Occasional visits to off-site school and county locations is required. Requires working beyond set hours and days. Frequent telephonic and personal contact with Department Heads, Principals, internal and external organizations at County and State level, employees and the general publics is required. Must be able to perform medium lifting of up to 25 pounds.

 

SALARY:  Hiring Range: $17.52 – $21.03/per hour based on experience and internal equity
Internal candidates will receive pay adjustments in accordance with County School Board Policy, GCBA-R.
