The Recruitment and Diversity Coordinator is responsible for the planning and tactical approach to the organization’s recruitment and diversity programs.  This position maintains a data-driven program focused on transparency, performance, and the organization’s holistic approach to strategically and continuously positioning itself as an optimal employer representative of a diverse citizenry.  This position partners with the varying functions within the school division and/or local government, striving to qualitatively enhance applicant populations to satisfy the organization’s complex staffing needs.  This position executes the employer brand, as well as the recruitment and selection tactics internally utilized, including promotional and succession management processes.  Essential functions include, and are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to create and execute employer branding strategy, to include defined benchmarks and performance measurement procedures;
  • Develops data reporting infrastructure to continuously monitor diversity efforts;
  • Identifies functionally-specific departmental needs and collaborate with HR Generalists and department staff to develop subsequent strategies and objectives;
  • Provides routine recruitment and promotional performance data and feedback to internal stakeholders;
  • Creates and provides training targeting the identification of candidates that are organizationally-aligned;
  • Partners with hiring managers to ensure that newly-hired employees are on-boarded successfully;
  • Creates and implements measurement tools (surveys, etc.) to acquire relevant measurement data and information;
  • Partners with departmental management and leadership to identify gaps and implement strategic objectives;
  • Educates departmental managers and leadership on diversity-focused strategies to attract a more diverse applicant population;
  • Provides guidance to departments on advertising sources and manages HR advertising and recruitment budget;
  • Partners with HR Generalists to develop training for identified interviewing skill gaps;
  • Creates, trains, and maintains relevant interview and selection procedures;
  • Provides training on all compliance matters as they relate to recruitment and selection procedures;
  • May partner with community members on key position recruitment processes;
  • Creates and maintains a broad and relevant set of internal and external benchmarks, and a routine for providing said data to department and school leaders;
  • Actively participates and supports the HR Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related area and five (5) years of Human Resources experience. Certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), and Master's degree in a related area is preferred.  Expert knowledge of personal computers and applications related to spreadsheets, word processing, database management and analysis.

 

Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices and employment laws, procedures, HRIS and general computer skills; thorough knowledge of departmental functions, organization and policies; comprehensive knowledge of business English and spelling; ability to establish harmonious working relationships with others; ability to work under pressure; ability to organize and perform work independently; ability to deal effectively with other employees and the general public.

 

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:  Work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional extended periods of time at computer terminals. Frequent visits to off-site school and county site locations are required. Occasional program necessity requires working hours beyond set hours and days. Communication may not be cooperative in nature and requires tact and discretion. Frequent telephonic and personal contact with Department Heads, Principals, applicants, internal and external organizations at County and State level, employees and the public is required.

 

SALARY:  Hiring Range: $51,830 - $62,196/ annual equivalent based on qualifications and internal equity.

                Internal candidates will receive pay adjustments in accordance with County Policy, P-60.
