Extended Day Enrichment Program (after-school)


The EDEP Site Facilitator II is responsible for providing supervision for the Extended Day Enrichment Program in the school where assigned.   Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Maintains a safe environment
  • Oversees daily operation of program
  • Supervises and evaluates staff
  • Establishes and maintains high standards of behavior for staff and students
  • Maintains accurate attendance records/knowledge of EDEP database
  • Provides instructional leadership
  • Attends administrative meetings as scheduled
  • Provides care for students and participates in all EDEP programs as assigned (Student Holiday, Spring Break and Inclement Weather)
  • Oversees the distribution of snacks
  • Coordinates activities and special events with EDEP and school staff
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships with EDEP staff and school staff
  • Exhibits positive public relations
  • Upholds EDEP Albemarle County and school rules, policies and procedures
  • Enforces EDEP policies
  • Attends required and assigned training sessions
  • Exhibits dependable work habits
  • Performs related duties as assigned by administration in accordance with School/County policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:  48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours of college credit from a college or university of which 12 semester hours are in child-related subjects and one year of programmatic experienc; OR a baccalaureate degree in a child-related field and one year of programmatic experience. Atleast one year of experience in a supervisory capacity; training in Basic First Aid.


Knowledge of child development and stages of growth; lesson planning ability; word processing and database skills; strong organizational skills; behavior management skills; supervisory skills; punctuality and dependability; excellent oral and written communication skills.


PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:  Duties performed typically in a school settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned spaces; Frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 80 pounds, and other limited physical activities are required; Occasional travel with students on field trips; Frequent movement of students by wheelchairs and there mechanical devices may be required; Occasional lifting of equipment such as audio-visuals weighing up to 50 pounds may be required; Lifting and movement of boxes containing food and drink or snack may be required; Daily personal and close contact with children ASEP staff members and other school staff required to provide an effective learning environment; Regular contact with staff members and parents; Occasional contact with medical professionals.

 

SALARY:  
Part-Time Hiring Range: $15.55 - $18.66/per hour based on experience, education and internal equity. Plus shift differential!
Full-Time Hiring Range: $16.33 - $19.60/per hour based on experience, education and internal equity. Plus shift differential!


Internal candidates will receive pay adjustments in accordance with County School Board Policy, GCBA-R.
