Temporary Furniture Planner

This temporary position works with the county interior designer to assist in furniture deliveries, installations and inspections of classroom furniture at various school locations for the County of Albemarle.  Candidate will gain experience working on school interior design projects and work with multiple stakeholders including architect, designer, and project manager.  Candidate needs to be detail oriented and possess problem solving and critical thinking skills. 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Review and critique multiple classroom and office furniture plans.
• Create master delivery and installation schedule for school locations
• Communicate with school staff and administration, CIP manager and Project Manager regarding schedule and plans
• Coordinate with the Office Assistant regarding purchase orders and billing
• Schedule furniture deliveries & installations with furniture dealers
• Supervise furniture deliveries and installations
• Coordinate temporary storage for furniture at each school
• Inspect furniture and sign off on delivery tickets
• Work with the warehouse manager regarding storage/release of furniture

Candidate must have valid VA driver’s license and provide own transportation to various school locations across Albemarle County.  Mileage will be reimbursed on a monthly basis. 

Term of temporary employment:  June 1, 2018 through August 22, 2018 and will require approximately 20 hours per week.

Pay rate: $14 per hour
