Office Assistant
ESOL Welcome Center
2-4 hours a day
International ESOL Office
Helps greet visitors to the Welcome Center, answers the phone, takes messages, gives information over the phone, and refers callers to the proper ESOL staff member for support. Helps with bulk mailings and student registrations.
Performs a variety of routine office and typing duties and individual assignments under the supervision of the ESOL Office staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, including or supplemented by a course word processing . Bilingual Spanish-speaker preferred

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
Some contact made with individuals from (a) other internal organizations units; or (b) outside organizations; or (c) contact with the general public for purposes of exchanging factual information which may require some judgement or interpretation in order to be responsive to questions or applicable to a specific situation. Communication is usually cooperative in nature, with infrequent conflicts resolved by higher authority. Conducts work in a sitting position; however, job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping and light lifting. Requires frequent operation of a variety of office machines.

Will be evaluated on the ability and effectiveness to carry out the responsibilities as outlined.
