HR is seeking an innovative and team-oriented Office Associate IV.  The OA IV serves as a member of our administrative team supporting the benefits function.  This position performs a wide variety of specialized functions and/or difficult clerical and administrative duties and provides exceptional customer service to all customers.  Work requires extensive knowledge of department, division, or section policies, procedures, and services and ability to communicate these to others.  This position requires interaction with external and internal customers, all departments, and all levels of employees.  Tasks require the ability to plan and carry out assignments. Work may involve providing assistance to temporary help.  Must be able to prioritize assignments and complete responsibilities in a timely, quality manner with minimal supervision.  Maintains strict confidentiality at all times.   Essential functions include, but not limited to:


• Maintains Electronic Record System

Primary administrative support for HR programs/services related to Local Government and School Division
• Meets/greets/screens customers/visitors; courteous and professional written and verbal communication
• Collects information and generates various reports
• Responsible for a variety of routine administrative assignments
• Adheres to strict deadlines for  time-sensitive HR processes
• Answers department phones and emails, take messages and provide responses; answers routine correspondences
• Prepares for and conducts HR New Hire Orientation for large groups on a routine basis
• Completes employment and benefit verification forms and write letters as requested
• Assists with and/or direct emerging human resource projects as needed
• Prepares special reports for School Board

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and at least three years extensive, increasingly responsible experience in clerical work; Bachelor's degree preferred; knowledge of school division policies/procedures strongly desired. 

 

Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and clerical techniques. Ability to make difficult arithmetic calculations, set up complex forms and statistical tables; ability to type and transcribe accurately; strong attention to detail in all matters; knowledge of business English and spelling; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and general public.  Proficiency in office-related software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, and Adobe Acrobat; Office equipment used includes computer, copier, Fax, printer, multiple-line phone, paper folder, projector, disc copier, and scanner.  Must work effectively independently, as well as in a team environment.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND NATURE OF CONTACTS:  Frequent contacts are made with individuals from other internal departments, outside organizations, and/or the general public for purposes of exchanging information which may require judgment or interpretation. Communication is usually cooperative in nature, with infrequent conflicts resolved by higher authority. Conducts work in a sitting position; however, job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping and light lifting; requires frequent operation of a variety of office machines.

 

SALARY:    Hiring Range: $13.09 – $15.71/per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.  
                  Internal candidates will receive pay adjustments in accordance with School Board Policy,GCBA.
